Burberry is hiring a Merchandiser in Tokyo to manage the Accessories range, lead seasonal buys and oversee PLM and stock allocation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own the Accessories product category end-to-end, driving the seasonal range and strategic direction with guidance from senior management.
- Lead the seasonal buy process (four cycles per year); develop and present range plans, pricing strategy, country-of-origin (COO) and competitive positioning for approval.
- Analyse weekly and monthly sales reports to recommend corrective actions and optimise sell-through.
- Define and execute stock allocation strategies across stores to align inventory with local demand and regional objectives.
- Collaborate with APAC Regional Merchandising to support sales goals, maintain appropriate stock levels and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Deliver product training to stores each season and articulate the category strategy to retail teams.
- Manage sample budgets and oversee sample ordering, tracking and maintenance.
- Maintain PLM data accuracy, support Merchandising Assistant with reporting and prepare Excel-based analyses for the Merchandising team.
- Conduct competitive and pricing analysis and partner with Corporate Pricing to align price bands across core currencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; degree in fashion, business or merchandising preferred.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience using PLM systems.
- Excellent organisational and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple tasks and perform in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Solid commercial understanding of retail business dynamics and the ability to translate market trends into actionable merchandising plans.

Experience
Approximately 2+ years of merchandising or buying experience within fashion or luxury retail, preferably with exposure to accessories, seasonal buying cycles and cross‑functional stakeholder management.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; degree in fashion, business, merchandising or a related discipline preferred.
