Burberry seeks an experienced Merchandiser for its Kidswear team in London on a 9-month contract to manage product categories end-to-end.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own and drive the product category, managing the full lifecycle from brief to delist and exit
- Collaborate with the Merchandising Manager and team to develop the strategic plan and influence cross-functional delivery of category direction
- Develop and present range plans for approval, including pricing strategy, cost of ownership, and competitive positioning
- Build and maintain relationships with Sourcing, Design, Product Development, and Planning counterparts
- Coordinate with Regional Merchandising teams to gather product feedback and market insights
- Present collections with confidence to diverse stakeholders and organizational levels
- Organize and coordinate collection notes and buying guides
- Analyze and provide strategic feedback on seasonal buys in comprehensive recaps
- Manage sample budgets for the category and oversee sample tracking, maintenance, and ordering
- Independently manage projects and prioritize daily activities to meet deadlines
- Analyze daily and weekly sales reports and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Maintain accuracy of seasonal market documents and tools, including PLM data entry and Excel reporting
- Conduct competitive market analysis, including pricing analysis and benchmarking
- Partner with Corporate Pricing to understand price bands across core currencies and report findings to the Merchandising team
- Coordinate and support product and market training for the Merchandising team
- Execute ad hoc administrative duties to ensure smooth team operations
Qualifications
- Experience in merchandising within a luxury or retail environment
- Strong passion for product and acute market awareness, particularly in ready-to-wear and accessories
- Demonstrated market awareness and elevated product sensitivity
- Commercial mindset with exceptional analytical ability and sound business judgment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with confidence handling data at pace
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing capabilities
