Merchandiser role at Burberry in London; lead kidswear category strategy on 9-month contract.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own and drive product category management, stewarding full lifecycle from brief to delist and exit
  • Develop and present range plans for approval, incorporating pricing strategy, cost analysis, and competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with Merchandising Manager and cross-functional teams to establish strategic category direction
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Sourcing, Design, Product Development, Planning, and Regional Merchandising teams
  • Deliver collection presentations with confidence to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Organize and coordinate collection notes, buying guides, and associated documentation
  • Conduct strategic analysis of seasonal buys and present comprehensive recaps
  • Manage sample budgets accountability, including tracking, maintenance, and requisition of samples
  • Analyze daily and weekly sales reports and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Ensure accuracy of seasonal market documents and PLM data entry; prepare Excel-based reports for team
  • Conduct competitive market analysis including pricing benchmarking across key markets
  • Coordinate with Corporate Pricing to understand and maintain price-band structure across three core currencies
  • Manage administrative duties related to market and product training for the Merchandising team
  • Support day-to-day prioritization and deadline management for independent project execution

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in merchandising within luxury or premium retail environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with ability to work with data at pace
  • Strong product sensitivity and awareness of current market trends, particularly in Ready-to-Wear and Accessories
  • Commercial mindset with exceptional analytical capabilities and sound business judgment
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
