Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for Retail Operations across all stores in Japan.
  • Collaborate with Retail Head and Store Managers to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead workforce planning, attrition analysis, and headcount budgeting.
  • Drive employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting and reviews.
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary actions and grievances.
  • Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and Burberry's global policies.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for all store positions, including sourcing and selection.
  • Enhance candidate experience and employer branding for store roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of HR generalist or HRBP experience in luxury, fashion, or retail.
  • Proven expertise in strategic HR business partnering and recruitment.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law.

Skills

Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High energy and hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

A minimum of 5–7 years in HR generalist or HRBP roles, ideally within luxury, fashion, premium retail, or hospitality sectors.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
