HR Business Partner at Burberry, New York. Strategic HR support role for retail and distribution operations. Base salary $125,000–$140,000.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Establish business strategies to enhance retention and development of key talent while minimizing attrition
  • Develop people strategies and design approaches for diagnosing and enhancing organization effectiveness and employee satisfaction
  • Analyze and deliver regular reports on business performance and employee performance within respective markets
  • Build credibility and influence as a trusted advisor to regional cross-functional partners on people-related matters and talent strategy
  • Protect the business by ensuring legal compliance that is culturally aligned with Burberry brand values
  • Partner with Employee Relations teams to manage ER cases involving grievances and investigations
  • Coach line managers to manage ER cases and upskill in HR policies and guidelines
  • Manage relationships with unions, work councils, and employee representatives where required
  • Partner with Senior Manager of Human Resources to develop and implement effective HR processes and procedures
  • Manage the annual review and reward planning process, supporting line managers in merit decisions
  • Manage the performance management process, providing effective coaching and ensuring timely follow-up
  • Collaborate with retail managers to create and implement development plans and goal setting
  • Encourage and drive internal mobility and succession planning
  • Partner with Learning and Development teams on value-added training and career development programs
  • Interview final-stage senior management candidates for retail positions
  • Review and partner on all employment offers in partnership with the talent team and line managers
  • Facilitate onboarding of new managers in partnership with the retail training team
  • Ensure line managers implement 30/60/90 day probationary evaluations for new hires
  • Train new hires on HR policies, procedures, benefits, and Burberry values
  • Conduct in-store trainings as needed with respective HR business partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years prior Human Resources experience, including minimum 2 years in a management position
  • Demonstrated experience in various Human Resources functional areas
  • Deep knowledge of Human Resources policies and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate productive relationships across all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage multiple complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently
  • Ability to stylistically adapt communication based on audience and influence without authority
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong desire to support retail population and work in a multi-site environment
