Burberry is hiring a Finance Analyst in Tokyo to lead budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for Japan. Fluent Japanese and English required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain budgets and rolling forecasts for the Japan market, including system uploads, reconciliations and validation of inputs
  • Deliver monthly and ad hoc financial reporting and variance analysis to explain business performance and identify trends
  • Act as a finance business partner to local Japan teams and the Asia Pacific Finance group, translating financial data into actionable commercial insights
  • Support month‑end accounting close by collaborating with the local accounting team to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts
  • Lead and contribute to Asia Pacific finance projects aimed at process improvements, enhanced controls and efficiency gains
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical requests and stakeholder queries, prioritising deliverables to meet business timelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline
  • Native or business‑level proficiency in Japanese and strong English communication skills
  • Minimum three years’ experience in management reporting, financial analysis or FP&A; retail experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel capability with experience building and managing complex models and large datasets
  • Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to interpret complex datasets and present concise recommendations
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to perform in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment

Experience

At least 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, management reporting or FP&A. Prior exposure to retail or luxury goods finance and cross‑functional partnership with commercial and accounting teams is strongly preferred.
