Burberry seeks a Climate and Operations Manager in London to manage climate transition initiatives, renewable energy procurement, and ESG reporting.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery and ongoing development of Burberry's Scope 1 and 2 Science-Based Targets and renewable energy commitment, including leading processes to procure and retire renewable energy certificates globally
  • Support the delivery and ongoing development of Burberry's wider environmental targets and policies through targeted projects and actions, including the roll-out of Burberry's Internal Carbon Price and efforts to manage the environmental impacts of business travel
  • Manage the collection and analysis of global operational energy, waste and water data on a quarterly basis, supported by an internal network of data providers
  • Manage Burberry's compliance with energy-related reporting regulations such as SECR, UK ESOS and EU EED
  • Manage the ongoing identification and assessment of site-level physical climate risks across the Burberry estate to inform Burberry's environmental risk management and reporting
  • Support the ongoing integration of energy and greenhouse gas emissions data with relevant data management platforms
  • Support the preparation of broader ESG disclosures, such as CDP, TCFD, and the sustainability section of the Burberry Annual Report and Accounts
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as key industry working groups, consultancies, and NGOs, and monitor wider industry decarbonisation efforts

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of climate and energy reporting frameworks, legislation and disclosure requirements, including climate and energy regulations (SECR, ESOS, GHG Protocol)
  • Proven experience delivering decarbonisation, renewable energy or environmental improvement programmes with measurable outcomes
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across diverse business functions
  • Commercially minded sustainability professional able to balance environmental ambition with operational practicality and business priorities
  • Experience of site-level energy, water and/or waste auditing (desired but not essential)
  • Experience with LEED, BREEAM, ISO 50001 and/or ISO 14001 (desired but not essential)
  • Knowledge of carbon pricing mechanisms and the voluntary carbon market (desired but not essential)
