Role & Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership on the shop floor, acting as a brand ambassador and role model for Burberry behaviours.
- Drive sales performance and conversion through commercial planning, opportunity identification and effective execution of merchandising and inventory strategies.
- Own the employee experience: recruit, develop, retain and coach a high‑performing store team, fostering a culture of learning and internal mobility.
- Ensure exceptional customer experience and long‑term client cultivation through staff coaching, data capture and relationship management.
- Maintain luxury store standards and ensure consistent implementation of Visual Merchandising guidelines across the boutique.
- Leverage digital assets, social media and e‑commerce touchpoints to enhance in‑store customer journeys and sales.
- Ensure operational excellence and compliance with corporate policies, local retail and employment legislation, health & safety procedures and loss prevention measures.
- Monitor KPIs including sales, conversion, customer experience scores and shrinkage; implement corrective action to meet targets.
- Prepare, practice and record emergency evacuation plans and associated Health & Safety activities (record completion on Rivo).
Qualifications
- Demonstrable retail management experience in a luxury brand or high‑end service environment; scope and metrics (sales turnover, team size) to be assessed relative to role complexity.
- Proven leadership and coaching capability with experience developing talent and building strong team engagement.
- Commercial acumen with experience driving sales, conversion and productivity in a boutique or flagship context.
- Strong product knowledge and ability to advocate product across the store team.
- Digital awareness with confidence using social media, e‑commerce platforms and in‑store digital tools.
- Knowledge of local retail and employment legislation and flexible availability to meet store operational needs.
- Local language plus English (for Sydney: English).
Skills
Experience
Significant retail management experience within luxury fashion or a comparable premium retail environment, with evidence of delivering sales targets, managing teams, and applying visual merchandising and operational standards. Prior responsibility for recruitment, talent development and performance management is expected.
Education
