Burberry seeks an Assistant General Manager on Bloor Street, Toronto to support store leadership, drive category sales and coach retail teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in driving category sales and achieving retail KPIs through direct supervision and real-time coaching of the sales team.
- Lead and develop a high-performing, customer-facing team; deliver regular coaching, role-play training and individual development plans.
- Own customer flow and the in-store customer experience, ensuring every client receives the full Burberry Experience and brand standards are consistently applied.
- Drive sell-through for assigned categories by partnering with the Store Manager on merchandising, product knowledge and selling techniques.
- Resolve complex customer issues and escalate when necessary; authorise post-void transactions, promotional discounts and employee sales in management’s absence.
- Promote digital engagement in-store; leverage Apple devices and digital resources to service clients and communicate when face-to-face contact is not possible.
- Support onboarding and integration of new joiners; partner with Training to embed Burberry Experience content into morning and weekly meetings.
- Maintain operational compliance with company policies, assist with store opening/closing procedures and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of POS systems and retail transaction procedures.
- Proven ability to manage complex customer-service situations (complaints, returns, repairs and after‑sales).
- Familiarity and comfort using Apple mobile devices and other digital tools to support selling.
- Demonstrable coaching and people-development capability with 1–2 years supervisory or management experience in retail sales.
- Professional verbal communication skills in client-facing settings and ability to lead by example.

Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or retail management experience, preferably within luxury or premium fashion retail.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary study in business, retail management or a related discipline preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 70,000 to CAD 75,000 per annum.
