Burberry seeks an Assistant General Manager in McLean, Virginia to lead retail operations, manage sales teams, and drive customer experience excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead sales associates to improve selling skills and achieve sales goals and KPIs
- Drive sales performance for assigned categories in partnership with the Store Manager on sell-through and team training
- Lead a high-performing, customer-facing team and coach staff to deliver the full Burberry Experience in line with brand strategies
- Manage customer flow to ensure optimal service delivery and that no client is left unattended
- Drive collaboration between sales associates, specialists, stock, and operations teams on the selling floor
- Provide in-the-moment and post-transaction coaching to associates, discussing successes and improvement opportunities
- Work closely with the Store Manager to develop and retain talented employees through monthly development plans and annual performance reviews
- Lead the integration and onboarding of new team members
- Lead by example by delivering exceptional customer service when necessary
- Partner with Store Manager and Training to deliver Burberry Experience training, using meetings and role-play to reinforce key principles
- Resolve complex customer issues and escalate to management when appropriate
- Authorize post-void transactions, promotional discounts, and employee sales in the absence of store management
- Drive digital experience in-store and use digital resources for communication
- Communicate business needs and ideas to advance store performance
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly
- Maintain an open, positive, and harmonious work environment
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including security and POS operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Advanced POS system knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex customer service situations including dissatisfied customers, complaints, returns, repairs, and after-sales issues
- Fluent and professional communication skills with clients and staff
- Experience with Apple mobile devices and comfort with digital tools
- 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience in retail sales
