Role & Responsibilities
- Lead local data governance and quality programmes: define critical data elements, data quality rules, and monitoring processes in line with HQ standards.
- Design and maintain data governance scorecards and dashboards to measure data quality, control and strategic alignment.
- Serve as the primary local entry point for data topics, coordinating between business, IT, global HQ, risk/compliance and CRM teams.
- Identify opportunities to leverage 1st‑ and 2nd‑party customer data to support commercial KPIs and omni‑channel initiatives.
- Perform customer database analysis and segmentation to surface behavioural insights and monitor business KPIs.
- Develop and validate predictive models and algorithms to optimise customer experience, targeting and revenue outcomes.
- Coordinate local test & learn programmes for AI use cases; build A/B testing frameworks and evaluate model performance.
- Report progress and outcomes of data governance and analytics initiatives to senior management and relevant committees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, statistics, data science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data management, analytics or related functions; experience in retail, luxury, or omni‑channel environments preferred.
- Practical knowledge of data privacy obligations and ability to coordinate with legal/compliance stakeholders.
- Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
- Proven ability to translate complex technical problems into clear, non‑technical recommendations for business stakeholders.

Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in data management, data analysis or analytics roles with demonstrated exposure to data governance, cross‑functional stakeholder engagement and deployment of advanced analytics or AI pilots—preferably within retail, luxury or omni‑channel organisations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, statistics, data science or related field.
