Bulgari Japan seeks an Interior Design Associate Manager in Tokyo to manage luxury store projects from concept to opening and beyond.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee comprehensive store design projects from initial planning through construction completion and post-opening operations, ensuring alignment with Bulgari design strategy and heritage
  • Negotiate building conditions and legal/technical requirements with landlords and consultants, drawing on understanding of business strategy to guide projects toward desired design objectives
  • Develop and maintain master project schedules, tracking critical milestones across design, bidding, approvals, procurement, construction, and opening phases
  • Lead budget management and cost reporting for each project, monitoring expenditures and communicating cost trends to headquarters
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Rome headquarters, retail operations, and other departments to realize design intentions and prepare opening protocols
  • Explain and ensure alignment of design specifications with local architects, cost consultants, and sustainability specialists, incorporating specialized knowledge for optimal design conditions
  • Collaborate with general contractors and production companies on value engineering proposals, contract creation, and procurement tasks
  • Review technical shop drawings and material submittals, conduct on-site construction inspections, factory pre-shipment inspections, and completion inspections
  • Execute facility maintenance operations and store environment upkeep, visiting stores regularly to monitor maintenance execution and collaborate on quality improvements
  • Support sustainability initiatives and provide monthly reporting and analysis on maintenance activities and facility performance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in store planning within the global luxury goods sector, or equivalent background in architecture or contracting
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or related discipline
  • Working knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, including schedule development, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite; CAD skills are valued
