Bvlgari seeks a Grinding Programmer Technician for its watch-case manufacturing facility in Saignelégier, Switzerland. Reporting to the Methods and Industrialisation Manager, the role industrialises mechanised grinding and finishing projects, develops and optimises machine programmes, and supports production and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in product process reviews to define an overall industrialisation strategy that aligns the interests of each department.
- Create grinding and mechanised satin-finishing programmes for watch-case components, and define the consumables required for production.
- Fine-tune programmes on the machine through validation, focusing on quality, performance and robustness.
- Optimise subsequent machine set-ups by validating and guaranteeing the programme, tooling and instructions chain for producing each component according to the defined process.
- Meet project objectives while considering deadlines, costs and required quality.
- Support the production team in adopting the process and its specific requirements throughout pre-series manufacturing.
- Promote standardisation of processes, tooling and consumables.
- Review existing processes and propose optimisations.
- Monitor technological developments in the field to support new preparation and finishing processes.
- Act as the technical interface with relevant subcontractors and partners.
- Participate in problem-solving initiatives and implement corresponding action plans to improve operations.
- Provide specialist support and daily follow-up with production teams, and contribute to continuous improvement in the workshop in collaboration with the manager.
- Provide technical support to the grinding team and lead the sector’s continuous-improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- ES qualification or CFC in mechanics, or equivalent experience.
- Considerable experience in mechanised preparation and finishing of watch-case components, with mastery of various five-axis grinding techniques.
- Machining and polishing knowledge is an asset.
- Comfortable operating automated grinding and finishing machines, with substantial CAM programming experience, ideally using Gibbs CAM, or able to train effectively to acquire this skill.
- Strong synthesis and analytical abilities, with the capacity to take a high-level view of a complete finishing project.
- Excellent communication and flexibility, with recognised diplomacy and teaching skills.
- Strong team spirit and consideration for workshop needs and constraints; able to build effective working relationships and synergies.
- Results-oriented, proactive in proposing solutions to meet objectives, and continually contributes new improvement ideas.
- Recognised autonomy and rigour, with the determination to complete assigned responsibilities.
