Buccellati in Milan seeks a Supply Planning Manager to lead inventory and production planning for its artisanal high-jewellery operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the end-to-end supply plan to meet retail and wholesale demand while optimising inventory and service levels.
  • Lead short-, mid- and long-term demand translation into production and procurement schedules across ateliers and external suppliers.
  • Coordinate monthly S&OP processes with commercial, design, manufacturing and procurement stakeholders to align forecasts, capacity and delivery commitments.
  • Manage inventory policy, safety stock and replenishment logic for finished goods, components and precious metal stocks to minimise obsolescence and working capital.
  • Monitor supply performance through KPIs (service levels, fill rate, lead times, inventory turns) and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with procurement and vendor management to mitigate supply risks, expedite critical orders and manage lead-time variability.
  • Drive continuous improvement of planning processes and systems, including master data hygiene and planning governance.
  • Provide scenario modelling and capacity trade-offs to support product launches, limited editions and seasonal peaks.

Qualifications

  • Proven managerial experience in supply planning, production planning or materials management within luxury goods, fashion, jewellery or high-value manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing or running S&OP cycles and inventory optimisation programs.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience translating sales forecasts into operational plans and KPIs.
  • Track record of cross-functional stakeholder management between design, manufacturing, procurement and commercial teams.
  • Fluency in planning principles (MRP, safety stock calculation, lead-time management) and familiarity with capacity planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead process change in a craft- and design-oriented environment.
