Operations Procurement Manager at Buccellati (Milan) – strategic procurement role managing materials and suppliers for luxury jewelry production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent availability of all critical materials—precious metals, components, gemstones, and services—according to production plans, preventing stock-outs that impact manufacturing
- Monitor and maintain target inventory levels for raw materials as defined in the budget
- Optimize total cost of ownership through strategic supplier negotiations and consolidation of procurement requests across production units
- Build and maintain a qualified, diversified, and high-performing supplier base through systematic vendor rating and continuous due diligence to mitigate supply chain risks
- Ensure normative, ethical, and sustainable compliance of all procurement activities in accordance with RJC, LBMA, ISO 9001, and applicable sectoral regulations
- Monitor and evaluate supplier delivery performance, service levels, and quality standards, ensuring prompt resolution of delays or non-conformities in collaboration with the Quality Department
- Manage supplier contracts and administrative relationships efficiently, optimizing payment terms and cost structures
- Provide precise and current procurement cost data to the Industrial Controller to ensure accurate product costing
- Proactively identify and escalate critical supply chain risks to senior management, proposing coordinated action plans with Production and Supply Chain teams
Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a procurement or supply chain management role
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems, particularly SAP
- Fluent English language capability
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or operations roles within manufacturing or luxury goods production environments. Experience with precious materials sourcing, supplier relationship management, and ERP systems implementation is highly valued.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
