Role & Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day receipt, inspection and segregation of precious metals, alloys and gemstones to ensure correct identification, quantity and condition prior to release to ateliers.
• Maintain accurate materials inventory and stock records, perform regular reconciliations and drive shrinkage-prevention procedures.
• Coordinate logistics and scheduling for internal transfers and supplier deliveries, including packing, labelling and documentation for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Ensure full traceability and compliance with sourcing, hallmarking and regulatory requirements (e.g., karat verification, chain-of-custody protocols).
• Liaise with suppliers, procurement and production planners to anticipate material needs, expedite priority orders and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct incoming quality checks, flag non-conforming materials and coordinate corrective actions with workshops and Quality Assurance.
• Prepare materials for costing, sample management and production release; maintain material specification sheets and sample libraries.
• Support periodic stocktakes, cycle counts and audit preparation; produce materials usage and movement reports for management.

Qualifications

• Vocational diploma or degree in materials science, metallurgy, gemmology, logistics or equivalent practical experience in a jewellery/manufacturing context.
• Minimum three years' experience managing materials or inventory within fine jewellery, luxury goods manufacturing, or precision artisanal production.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated competence in precious-metal handling and gemstone identification procedures.
• Knowledge of hallmarking, karat verification and basic gemmological terminology.
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise in a fast-paced atelier environment and maintain confidentiality when handling high-value materials.

Experience

At least 3 years' hands-on experience in materials or inventory management within fine jewellery, luxury accessories or similarly regulated, high-value manufacturing environments. Experience with atelier workflows and supplier-facing coordination is required.

Education

Vocational diploma or bachelor's degree in materials science, metallurgy, gemmology, logistics/supply chain or equivalent professional qualifications; jewellery-related certifications preferred.
