Buccellati in Morbio Inferiore seeks a Goldsmith (Orafo) to craft and finish high-jewellery in its artisanal atelier.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute hand fabrication, assembly and finishing of high-jewellery pieces to Buccellati quality standards, including sawing, soldering, forming and surface finishing.
- Perform precision stone setting (bead, prong, flush) and hand engraving consistent with maison motifs and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings and prototypes; collaborate with design and CAD/model-making teams to translate concepts into finished pieces.
- Conduct detailed quality control inspections, correct minor defects, and ensure strict compliance with precious-metal standards and hallmarks.
- Maintain bench equipment, tools and work area; manage small-scale production timelines and documentation for each piece.
- Repair and restore vintage and contemporary items, advising on feasibility and estimating labour requirements when required.
Qualifications
- Completed apprenticeship or equivalent vocational qualification in goldsmithing/jewellery making.
- Proven mastery of traditional bench techniques: soldering, sawing, hand finishing and polishing.
- Advanced competency in precision stone setting and hand engraving.
- Deep familiarity with precious-metal alloys, hallmarking requirements and jewellery quality standards.
- Excellent manual dexterity, attention to micro-detail and ability to work to exacting tolerances.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in a high-jewellery or luxury atelier environment, with demonstrable responsibility for producing finished pieces and participating in small-batch production or bespoke commissions.
Education
Apprenticeship in goldsmithing, vocational diploma in jewellery/metalwork, or equivalent formal training.
