Buccellati in Milan seeks a Demand Planning Manager to lead forecasting, S&OP and inventory strategy for its high-jewelry collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and own end-to-end demand planning processes for product assortments, translating sales strategies and promotional calendars into SKU-level forecasts.
- Lead the monthly S&OP cycle, coordinating cross-functional inputs from retail, wholesale, product, manufacturing and finance to align supply with demand.
- Build and maintain statistical and qualitative forecasting models, applying demand sensing and segmentation to improve accuracy and reduce bias.
- Set inventory targets and safety stock policies by channel and product family; monitor stock levels, aging and sell-through to minimize obsolescence while preserving availability.
- Collaborate with production and atelier teams to incorporate handcrafted lead times and capacity constraints into supply plans.
- Establish and report on KPIs (forecast accuracy, bias, fill rate, inventory turns) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coach and develop planners; promote data-driven decision making across commercial and operations teams.
- Partner with IT to optimize ERP/planning tool configuration and data flows; lead change initiatives for forecasting and replenishment tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience managing demand planning or S&OP in fashion, luxury goods or durable consumer products.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning processes and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability with a track record of improving forecast accuracy and inventory performance.
- Excellent communication skills in multi-stakeholder, international contexts.
Skills
Experience
Typically 5+ years in demand planning, forecasting or supply chain roles with at least 2 years leading teams or projects; experience within luxury fashion, high-jewelry or artisanal production environments is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent. A master’s degree or professional certification in supply chain/operations is a plus.
