Breuninger Retail Management Trainee

Role & Responsibilities

• Complete practical training in one of the following departments: Menswear, Menswear Exquisit, or Womenswear.
• Earn three qualifications: Retail Salesperson (IHK), Trainer Aptitude Certificate (AdA, IHK), and Certified Trade Specialist (IHK).
• Attend block classes at Akademie Handel in Munich.
• Use a personal tablet provided during the training programme.
• Develop knowledge of assortment and materials management to provide expert product advice to customers.
• Apply sales techniques effectively and guide customer conversations to successful purchases.
• Support sales operations, including processing complaints, preparing events, and implementing sales promotion measures.
• Gain insight into merchandise management and the use of key figures to manage commercial processes.
• Attend regular training sessions for personal and professional development.
• Take on the role of a manager as part of a project.
• After completing the programme, and subject to suitable development, have the opportunity to participate in the internal E. B. Talent management development programme.

• Enjoy sales and interacting with people, and aspire to a long-term career in retail.
• Feel at home in the fashion world, with a strong awareness of trends and a confident sense of style.
• Have a good understanding of commercial processes and an interest in complex workflows.
• Bring a positive demeanour and strong communication skills to advise customers competently.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, an independent approach to work, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Be willing to relocate within Germany to one of the company’s locations after successfully completing the Abiturienten programme.
• Have successfully completed the Abitur or Fachhochschulreife.
