Breitling seeks a Quality Technician for Movement Assembly at its La Chaux-de-Fonds facility to ensure excellence in chronometric precision and craftsmanship. This role encompasses quality control documentation, production support, non-conformity tracking, continuous improvement initiatives, and vendor quality management for movement components. The successful candidate will drive quality standards across assembly operations through audits, statistical analysis, and proactive problem-solving while maintaining Breitling's heritage of horological expertise since 1884.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare inspection forms and quality documentation for movement assembly operations
- Provide quality support and guidance to production teams on quality processes and procedures
- Monitor pre-series production and manage component homologation at T1 stage
- Record, track, and process non-conformity reports with appropriate follow-up
- Identify and escalate operational issues with solutions to address quality gaps
- Conduct workstation audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and lean initiatives
- Analyze production scrap, track causes, and initiate corrective and preventive actions
- Make decisions within the quality waiver process in accordance with established procedures
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for workshop quality metrics
- Maintain relationships and coordinate quality follow-up with external subcontractors
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and structured information to stakeholders across departments
- Prepare clear, accurate, and professional quality reports
Qualifications
- Diploma in Technical Quality Assurance (ES Technicien Qualité) or equivalent certification
- Three to five years of experience in a similar quality role, ideally in watchmaking or movement assembly
- Knowledge of horological components and mechanisms, particularly watch movements
- Proficiency with problem-solving methodologies, engineering blueprints, ISO geometric tolerancing, and general metrology principles
- Competence with standard IT tools, especially Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning capabilities; statistical process control (SPC) experience is advantageous
- Autonomy, methodical approach, rigor, and proactive work ethic
- Excellent communication skills with ability to produce clear, well-structured documentation
- Commitment to continuous improvement and active participation in quality enhancement initiatives
- Fluent French (spoken and written); knowledge of English and/or German is beneficial

3 to 5 years in a similar quality assurance role, ideally within watchmaking or horological movement assembly, with demonstrated expertise in movement components and quality oversight.
Education
Diploma in Technical Quality Assurance (ES Technicien Qualité) or equivalent professional certification; watchmaking training and TQ1/TQ2 certification are advantageous.
