Breitling seeks a Process Engineer (12-month contract) to optimize watchmaking manufacturing. Senior technical role in Switzerland.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define, industrialize and optimize watch movement and sub-assembly manufacturing and assembly processes
- Optimize and standardize work methods to ensure robustness, quality and performance of industrial processes within the manufacture and with external partners
- Develop and standardize production equipment programs according to industrial requirements
- Define and maintain production process specifications and associated technical data
- Conduct time studies and maintain production standards compliance
- Author, update and maintain work instructions and operating standards in collaboration with relevant departments
- Participate in process and equipment validations, industrial qualifications, and continuous improvement problem-solving initiatives (QRQC, technical analysis, corrective actions)
- Participate in acquisition, industrialization and integration projects for new production equipment
- Participate in digitalization projects and industrial tools improvement initiatives
- Capitalize, structure and transmit technical knowledge related to industrial processes; support training and integration of new colleagues on methods and processes
- Provide clear, synthesized and structured communication to various stakeholders and escalate deviations or issues to management
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in process management, microtechnology, or equivalent qualification
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical environment related to microtechnology, mechanical engineering, or watchmaking
- Hands-on field experience in an industrial environment
- Mastery of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, including VSM, PDCA, 8D and DMAIC tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with standard IT tools, including Microsoft Office suite, and CAD/PLM software (Inventor and Vault)
- Knowledge of industrialization and process standardization methodologies in the watchmaking sector
- Ability to observe, analyze floor conditions and propose pertinent, structured improvements in an industrial setting
- Capacity for effective cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, maintenance and industrialization teams
- Fluent in French (spoken and written); solid knowledge of English; additional languages are valued

3–5 years in a technical environment related to microtechnology, mechanical engineering, or watchmaking; demonstrated hands-on field experience in an industrial manufacturing setting; proven expertise in process optimization, Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education
Engineering degree in process management, microtechnology, or equivalent professional qualification.
