Breitling Movement Purchasing Manager

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and monitor monthly capacity reservations with movement and movement component suppliers in accordance with production schedules and new product development timelines
• Define and enforce purchasing and procurement rules regarding pricing, lot sizes, sourcing parameters, and other critical supply chain factors
• Support product development and new launches through RFQ processes, supplier selection, value analysis, and component procurement
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers while implementing initiatives to enhance supply security, flexibility, and responsiveness
• Implement actions to reduce inventory levels and improve overall procurement efficiency
• Establish and maintain procurement procedures, SLAs, NDAs, and other supplier and partner agreements
• Analyze demand requirements (RRP) outputs from the ERP system and manage supplier confirmations, discrepancies, and exceptions related to delivery, pricing, quantities, advances, postponements, and cancellations
• Identify exceptional requirements, propose solutions, and ensure regular supplier follow-up to anticipate and communicate potential delivery delays
• Manage supplier order portfolios through monthly reviews, delay prevention, and return tracking
• Ensure ERP data integrity with current supplier information including pricing, lead times, and delivery dates
• Manage specific requests from Development and Planning project managers, coordinating component procurement to ensure launch plan compliance
• Define and track relevant department and supplier KPIs, analyze results, and contribute to qualitative reporting
• Design and implement action plans to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement in procurement and supply activities
• Manage component origin and traceability data, including common and preferential origin declarations
• Propose improvements to procurement principles, processes, and governing rules
• Define and monitor team objectives, conduct performance reviews, and prepare salary increase and bonus recommendations
• Ensure effective department operations through leadership, communication, activity tracking, feedback management, and conflict resolution
• Oversee compliance with time management, absence, leave, and internal regulations; maintain updated job descriptions and HR reporting
• Participate in recruitment of key positions, oversee internal mobility, and contribute to new employee integration
• Develop team competencies through skills matrix creation, training plan definition, and onboarding validation in collaboration with Human Resources

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in component movement procurement and supply chain management
• 3 to 5 years of team management experience
• Technical background such as mechanical engineering, microtechnology, or related engineering discipline
• Formal training or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement
• Strong knowledge of strategic purchasing, operational sourcing, and supply chain management
• Familiarity with the movement component supplier network and preferably experience in the watch and horology industry
• Proficiency with ERP systems, data analysis tools, and project tracking platforms
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis
• Excellent communication and negotiation competencies
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers at all organizational levels

Skills

Experience

5 to 10 years in component movement procurement and supply chain management, with 3 to 5 years of team management experience. Ideally includes familiarity with the movement component supplier network and experience in the horological industry.

Education

Technical background such as mechanical engineering, microtechnology, or related engineering discipline, complemented by formal training in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
