Boucheron seeks a Quality Control Intern to ensure the integrity and excellence of jewelry pieces across its central Paris inventory. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the intern will execute comprehensive inspections of jewelry, fine jewelry, and haute jewelry, identify defects across dimensions including weight and gemstone quality, and manage associated documentation and digital workflows. The role encompasses metal hallmarking compliance, repair coordination, and participation in continuous quality procedure refinement.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive quality inspections on jewelry, fine jewelry, and haute jewelry pieces, identifying defects in weight, gemstones, metal, and other specifications
- Manage digital workflows and documentation for quality control processes, including archival and record-keeping
- Perform periodic on-site supplier audits and product inspections
- Oversee metal hallmarking and certification management, including official testing compliance
- Coordinate repair shipments for central stock inventory, verify returns, input data into quality systems, and maintain repair case documentation
- Liaise with sales administration regarding repair file follow-up and resolution
- Contribute to the development and refinement of quality assurance procedures
- Support product innovation validation and testing protocols
- Participate in central warehouse activities, including inventory counts and stock management
Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of jewelry craft and manufacturing processes
- Prior experience in quality control or jewelry workshop environments (valued)
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong concentration, precision, integrity, and discretion
- Clear verbal and written communication in French and ideally English
- Demonstrated passion for luxury jewelry and craftsmanship
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ideally prior exposure to ERP systems
- English language skills preferred
