Quality Control Specialist for Bottega Veneta's footwear atelier in Vigonza, Italy. Oversee upper production and apply artisanal finishing techniques.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control inspections on uppers produced internally and by external suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards
- Collaborate with Industrialization and Modelling teams on upper validation and supplier first-article inspections
- Identify and report non-conformities, contributing to cross-departmental corrective action plans
- Monitor external supplier quality performance and support the development of a shared quality culture
- Assemble and oversee master patterns during upper edge-stitching and component assembly phases according to technical specifications
- Perform leather finishing operations, including both machine and manual skiving techniques, and apply principal edge-stitching methods
- Operate specialized sewing machines, including column and zigzag models
- Support prototype, sample, and production development in coordination with internal modelling departments
- Execute repair work as required
- Maintain and update quality control records and documentation in the management system
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of demonstrated experience in the footwear industry
- Proficiency with women's elegant shoe production
- Comprehensive knowledge of footwear production cycles and manufacturing phases
- Expert proficiency operating column and zigzag sewing machines and leather skiving equipment
- Exceptional manual dexterity and precision
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team orientation
- Willingness to undertake frequent business travel within Italy and internationally
Skills
Experience
7–10 years in the footwear industry, preferably in the production and finishing of women's elegant footwear, with demonstrated expertise in quality control, leather finishing techniques, and specialized sewing machine operation.
Workplace
This position is based in Vigonza, Veneto, Italy, within easy reach of Padua.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 36,000 per annum.
