Berluti Senior Merchandising Manager in Shanghai, China — lead men's merchandise strategy and market operations for LVMH's luxury brand.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies for Men's Shoes, Ready-to-Wear, Leather Goods, and Accessories, ensuring alignment with global brand direction and local market preferences
- Lead the seasonal selection and assortment planning process, defining product mix, depth, and breadth across all channels including boutiques, e-commerce, and wholesale
- Manage Open-to-Buy budgets and forecast demand using historical data, current trends, and market intelligence
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify client needs, emerging trends, competitor activities, and growth opportunities within the Chinese luxury sector
- Prepare comprehensive business reviews and strategic presentations for Global Headquarters, translating global strategies into actionable local plans
- Monitor key performance indicators including sell-through rates, stock turnover, and margin performance, providing data-driven recommendations to the General Manager
- Design and deliver regular product training sessions for boutique teams and client advisors, emphasizing craftsmanship, collection narratives, and category-specific selling points
- Create training materials and visual guides to enhance retail staff product knowledge and confidence
- Oversee the end-to-end Made-to-Measure order process in China, including order placement, production tracking, and delivery coordination with the global atelier
- Analyze Made-to-Measure sales performance and customer profiles to identify growth opportunities and optimize the bespoke offering
- Manage weekly sales and stock monitoring; proactively address inventory health through transfers, markdowns, or promotional strategies
- Mentor and manage one Assistant Merchandiser, overseeing daily tasks, analytical work, and professional development
- Collaborate with Retail Operations to ensure adequate stock levels, visual merchandising excellence, and alignment with seasonal themes
- Partner with Marketing and Clienteling teams to align product launches with local campaigns and support personalized customer outreach
- Liaise with Supply Chain and Logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of seasonal collections and resolve supply chain bottlenecks
- Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the merchandising function
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 8–10 years of merchandising experience in the luxury fashion industry, preferably with background in men's footwear, leather goods, or ready-to-wear
- Proven experience in market analysis and presenting business cases to senior leadership or international headquarters
- Experience conducting product training or working closely with retail education teams
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to create compelling narratives for headquarters stakeholders
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken)
