Berluti, Paris – Materials & Components Development Manager (CDI, Hybrid). Lead textile sourcing, quality, and procurement for luxury menswear.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing and innovation initiatives for fabrics, trimmings, and components across two annual collections and capsule ranges, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and creative briefs
- Identify and evaluate textile materials and embellishment techniques in collaboration with graphic designers and studio teams, negotiating prices and purchase terms to meet target costs whilst maintaining luxury-grade quality standards
- Manage material and component certifications, verify technical specifications, and oversee quality control for prototypes and samples in compliance with LVMH's LIFE 360 programme
- Conduct ongoing technological and RSE monitoring on textile innovations and sustainable practices, participating actively in RSE meetings and industry trade shows
- Collaborate closely with Product Development and Studio teams to communicate material selections throughout collection development stages, flagging scheduling or quality alerts when non-compliance occurs
- Partner with Production to analyse technical test results, troubleshoot material and component issues, and develop industrialisable solutions
- Manage sourcing and purchasing of fabrics and components for prototypes, collection repetitions, VIP projects, and special orders whilst adhering to timelines
- Monitor budget allocation and forecasting with Finance, ensure invoice validation, and optimise stock management by coordinating material recycling and encouraging leftover collection utilisation
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships through regular audits and collaborative reviews
- Supervise and mentor a Researcher & Materials Purchasing Specialist and an intern, fostering their development and professional autonomy
Qualifications
- Degree in Textile Engineering or equivalent advanced qualification
- Minimum 10 years' experience in fabric and component development within a luxury ready-to-wear house, preferably with menswear specialisation
- Deep technical knowledge of fabrics, manufacturing processes, and embellishment techniques (printing, embroidery)
- Established network of premium textile and component suppliers
- Demonstrated commitment to and practical understanding of RSE principles and sustainability practices
- Proven team management experience
- Fluency in French, English, and Italian

Experience
Minimum 10 years in fabric and component development for luxury ready-to-wear collections, with prior experience managing teams and engaging with internal and external stakeholders across product development, production, and purchasing functions.
Education
Degree in Textile Engineering or equivalent advanced qualification
