Berluti Paris seeks Materials & Components Development Manager to lead luxury menswear fabric sourcing, quality, and supplier management. Full-time, CDI, Paris 8th.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Identify and source premium fabrics, trimmings, and components (buttons, hardware, leather elements) for two annual collections and seasonal capsules, aligned with Marketing briefs and Studio specifications
  • Propose embellishment techniques (prints, embroidery) in collaboration with design teams and negotiate pricing while maintaining Maison quality standards and target costs
  • Lead validation cycles for samples and prototypes, verify technical specifications, and oversee quality control of all materials and components
  • Guarantee proper article coding, technical specifications compliance, and adherence to LVMH's LIFE 360 sustainability and certification requirements
  • Conduct continuous technological and RSE monitoring, participate in professional trade shows, and maintain strategic supplier partnerships
  • Manage collection purchasing for prototypes, production runs, VIP orders, and special projects while tracking budgets against seasonal allocations
  • Pilot inventory optimization initiatives, oversee material recycling programs, and encourage reuse of collection remnants
  • Foster collaboration between Materials & Components teams, Product Development, Studio, and Production to resolve technical issues and ensure industrial feasibility
  • Manage and develop a direct report (Materials Research & Purchasing Specialist) and an intern, promoting autonomy and professional growth

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in luxury menswear fabric and component development
  • Engineering degree in textiles or equivalent advanced qualification
  • Demonstrated expertise in textile types, manufacturing processes, and embellishment techniques
  • Established network of premium supplier relationships in the luxury sector
  • First-hand experience managing teams successfully
  • Deep understanding of RSE principles and commitment to sustainable practices
  • Strong proficiency in office software and data management tools
  • Fluent in French, English, and Italian

Experience
