Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities within the nesting and cutting department, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Plan and allocate workforce and machine capacity to meet production targets, including Made-to-Order (MTO) volumes.
- Optimize material consumption and yield through effective nesting strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee operation of cutting systems (automatic cutters, press/trancia, and manual cutting), ensuring correct set-up, maintenance liaison and uptime.
- Implement Lean principles to reduce waste and improve first-time quality rates.
- Monitor quality control standards at cutting stations and resolve production issues to minimise rework.
- Maintain accurate production records in SAP and communicate forecasts and progress to production planning and downstream teams.
- Coach, organise and motivate the team; drive skill development, shift organisation and daily workflow management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a team leader or head of cutting in leather goods or luxury footwear manufacturing.
- Deep technical knowledge of leathers, linings and cutting materials.
- Proven expertise with automatic cutting systems, press (trancia) and hand cutting techniques.
- Practical experience applying Lean manufacturing concepts to optimise yield and throughput.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Excel; regular email communication via Outlook.
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem‑solving skills with a quality-first mindset.

Experience
Minimum 5 years in a leadership role (team leader or head of cutting) within leather goods, footwear, or luxury goods production, with demonstrable results in yield optimisation and team management.
Education
Technical diploma or degree in leather technology, industrial/manufacturing engineering, or equivalent practical experience in luxury goods production.
