Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare uppers by performing skiving, splitting, marking and application of reinforcements to specification.
  • Operate industrial sewing equipment to stitch upper components accurately (flat-bed and column sewing machines).
  • Execute edge-stitching (orlatura) and trim/refinish borders, ensuring consistent finishing and adherence to Berluti standards.
  • Fit and assemble components for subsequent production stages, apply accessories when required.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and final inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy, seam integrity and surface finish meet brand tolerances.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to stitching and leather handling; perform basic machine adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and care for tools and machinery according to safety and hygiene guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the production team and report production progress to supervisors; respect scheduled working hours (Mon–Thu 08:00–17:30; Fri 08:00–13:00).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in footwear manufacturing or a luxury leather goods atelier, with demonstrable sewing and finishing skills.
  • Proven ability to operate flat-bed and column industrial sewing machines used in shoemaking.
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and consistent precision in repetitive tasks.
  • Working knowledge of leather preparation techniques (skiving, splitting) and application of reinforcements.
  • Problem-solving aptitude for technical sewing issues and basic machine troubleshooting.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a production team and adapt to refined artisanal processes.
