Berluti — Footwear Edge-Stitching Operator in Ferrara, Italy. On-site artisanal production role at Berluti Manifattura (Mon–Thu 08:00–17:30; Fri 08:00–13:00).
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare uppers by performing skiving, splitting, marking and application of reinforcements to specification.
- Operate industrial sewing equipment to stitch upper components accurately (flat-bed and column sewing machines).
- Execute edge-stitching (orlatura) and trim/refinish borders, ensuring consistent finishing and adherence to Berluti standards.
- Fit and assemble components for subsequent production stages, apply accessories when required.
- Perform in-process quality checks and final inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy, seam integrity and surface finish meet brand tolerances.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to stitching and leather handling; perform basic machine adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and care for tools and machinery according to safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Collaborate with the production team and report production progress to supervisors; respect scheduled working hours (Mon–Thu 08:00–17:30; Fri 08:00–13:00).
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in footwear manufacturing or a luxury leather goods atelier, with demonstrable sewing and finishing skills.
- Proven ability to operate flat-bed and column industrial sewing machines used in shoemaking.
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and consistent precision in repetitive tasks.
- Working knowledge of leather preparation techniques (skiving, splitting) and application of reinforcements.
- Problem-solving aptitude for technical sewing issues and basic machine troubleshooting.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a production team and adapt to refined artisanal processes.

Experience
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in footwear production, preferably within luxury or artisanal manufacturing environments.
Education
Vocational training in footwear/leathercraft or equivalent practical experience in shoe manufacturing.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, with easy access to Bologna.
