Berluti seeks an experienced Assembly Department Manager in Ferrara, Italy to lead footwear production operations and drive continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities of the Footwear Assembly Production department, supported by Team Leaders and technologists
- Balance and optimize production workflow across all assembly phases
- Manage team organization, workforce scheduling, and production flow effectively
- Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety protocols and regulations
- Optimize production processes and department layout for efficiency gains
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance enhancements
- Lead and implement company-wide kaizen and continuous improvement projects
- Foster a quality-first culture within the team emphasizing 'right-first-time' manufacturing
- Identify, analyze, and resolve production-related issues and team challenges
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in production environments
- Proven expertise in footwear manufacturing or luxury artisanal shoe production preferred
- Demonstrable knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills
- Analytical capabilities with proactive problem-solving orientation
- Unwavering commitment to quality standards and zero-defect manufacturing philosophy
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency in Italian or willingness to achieve professional Italian language competency
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience managing production departments; automotive industry background is considered advantageous. Demonstrated proficiency in footwear manufacturing processes and Lean production methodologies.
Education
Technical or vocational qualification in industrial production, manufacturing engineering, or related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience in production supervision will be considered.

The successful candidate will be located in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, with easy access to Bologna.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 30,000 per annum.
