Role & Responsibilities
- Design and create personalized shoe lasts based on precise measurements and detailed morphological analysis
- Adjust and refine lasts following sample fittings and client consultations
- Collaborate closely with master bootmakers to develop expertise and eventually participate directly in client consultations
- Perform assembly, pattern-making, and stitching of bespoke footwear in coordination with the production team
- Execute assembly, pattern-making, and stitching of sample shoes for fittings
- Conduct necessary repairs as part of the after-sales service offering
Qualifications
- Formal training in cordwaining or shoemaking
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a shoemaker or equivalent artisanal craftsperson in a bespoke shoe workshop or comparable excellence-driven environment
- Demonstrated expertise in assembly and/or stitching processes
- Strong technical shoemaking and leatherworking skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a customer-service orientation
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of successful experience within a bespoke shoemaking workshop, with demonstrated expertise in forming, assembly, and finishing techniques. The candidate should possess a genuine passion for leatherworking and custom footwear production, combined with a proactive willingness to learn and eventually mentor others in the craft.
Education
Formal training in cordwaining, shoemaking, or bootmaking is required.
