Berluti seeks a Bespoke Shoemaker in Paris (8th or Les Rosiers‑sur‑Loire) — permanent Atelier role crafting made‑to‑measure shoes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and create personalised lasts from customer measurements and detailed morphological analysis.
- Adjust and refine lasts following prototype fittings to ensure optimal comfort and fit.
- Collaborate closely with an experienced bottier in a maker/buddy system; progressively participate in client consultations.
- Carry out assembly, pattern cutting (patronage) and hand‑stitching (piquage) for made‑to‑measure shoes and fitting prototypes.
- Perform repair and restoration work as part of after‑sales service (SAV) to preserve product integrity and client satisfaction.
- Work cross‑functionally with the atelier team and report to the Atelier Manager to meet production and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Vocational training in shoemaking or bootmaking (cordonnerie / botterie) or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in a bespoke shoemaking atelier or comparable artisanal excellence environment.
- Solid knowledge of assembly, pattern cutting and hand‑stitching techniques used in bespoke footwear production.
- Demonstrated ability to learn, adapt and transmit technical know‑how within a workshop.
- Organised, responsive and collaborative with a strong customer‑service orientation.
Skills
Experience
Minimum five years of hands‑on experience as a last maker, formier or in a similar role within a bespoke shoemaking atelier or high‑end artisanal footwear workshop.
Education
Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in shoemaking/bootmaking (cordonnerie / botterie) or equivalent artisanal training.
