Berluti in Paris seeks an Apprentice Bespoke Shoemaker (apprenticeship) at Atelier Sur-Mesure or Les Rosiers-sur-Loire.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organise the bespoke workshop to ensure a safe, efficient and professional production environment.
  • Manage and track stocks of leather, soles and other raw materials required for production and repair.
  • Support the fabrication of prototypes (maquettes) to prepare and optimise fittings and adjustments.
  • Learn and apply a range of bespoke shoe montage techniques under tutor supervision.
  • Execute repairs and sole replacements, ensuring longevity and quality of finished pieces.
  • Train in patterning and stitching (patronage et piquage) to produce tiges (uppers) from prototype to finished assembly.
  • Contribute to progressive tasks of increasing complexity, from simple constructions to elaborated bespoke models.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a vocational programme in shoemaking (cordonnerie), bootmaking (botterie) or orthopedics.
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity and acute attention to detail.
  • Organised, curious and quick to adapt to atelier methods and quality standards.
  • Strong team working skills and respect for workshop discipline and safety.

Experience
