Benefit Cosmetics hiring Sales Development Manager in Amsterdam, Netherlands—oversee regional sales, lead team supervisors, and drive retail turnover.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop national sales turnover by achieving monthly and yearly targets across all retail doors
- Establish and monitor sales targets by region and store location, implementing action plans to address performance gaps
- Conduct regular store visits with Field Supervisors, with emphasis on flagship locations and chain partners
- Coordinate in-store animation and merchandising activities executed by Field Supervisors and beauty consultants
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with retailer regional directors and store managers to drive performance and identify commercial opportunities
- Design and deliver engagement activities for both retail partner staff and Benefit team members
- Hire, orient, develop, and retain team members at all levels, including field supervisors and beauty consultants
- Negotiate and manage staffing levels based on productivity targets and emerging opportunities
- Ensure appropriate staffing across all counters with qualified personnel
- Conduct regular My Journey So Far (MJSF) performance evaluations for direct reports to drive individual development
- Monitor performance of beauty consultants based in Amsterdam and provide coaching and feedback
- Ensure compliance with company and retail partner policies regarding grooming, hygiene, and operational standards
- Collaborate with headquarters to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure top SKUs remain in stock
- Execute point-of-sale materials (POSMs) and merchandising updates in collaboration with field supervisors and beauty consultants
- Liaise with merchandising team on inventory issues, including damaged or missing display furniture
- Negotiate animation plans and additional retail space with retailer leadership
- Develop field supervisor and retail staff capabilities through on-site and off-site training programs
- Identify training needs through performance evaluations and collaborate with training resources to deliver tailored programs
- Maintain consistency in sales techniques and brand standards across all touchpoints
- Prepare travel and expense reports and coordinate online booking arrangements
- Manage merchandising orders and translate materials into local language as required
- Support execution of promotional events, training workshops, and retail partner engagement initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 6–8 years retail experience including at least 3 years in a management capacity
- Demonstrated sales and service track record with measurable results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and act on sales data and metrics
- Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities
- Ability to foster an engaging, inclusive, and energetic team environment
- Passion for beauty retail and cosmetics category

Experience
Minimum 5–6 years of retail experience with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role, preferably within the beauty, cosmetics, or selective retail environment. Proven track record of achieving sales targets, driving team performance, and implementing merchandising strategies in multi-location retail environments.
Education
Secondary education required; bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or related field preferred.
