Benefit Cosmetics Quality Technician, Bulk Release role in San Francisco. $34.62–$43.27/hr, hybrid (3 days onsite), permanent position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive, test, and evaluate incoming production samples according to Benefit testing procedures
- Establish new product masters as necessary per expiration dates and regulatory requirements
- Develop, modify, and validate test methods; communicate procedures to subcontractors when necessary
- Troubleshoot rework procedures with subcontractors to resolve out-of-specification results
- Collect retain samples, log all test results, and request certificates of analysis for incoming batches
- Retest expired bulk materials as needed to determine fitness for use
- Maintain all testing data in the data management system and provide required information for quality KPIs
- Analyze bulk release data to identify formulas suitable for self-release by subcontractors
- Assist the Product Lab Manager with sample preparation and execution of stability testing protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Cosmetics Science, or related scientific field preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience acceptable
- 1–3 years of prior experience in a laboratory or testing environment
- Demonstrated experience with bulk product inspection and release processes
- Proven proficiency in sensory and physical testing, including pH, viscosity, and specific gravity measurements
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment calibration, operation, and routine maintenance
Skills
Experience
1–3 years of laboratory or testing environment experience is strongly desired. Candidates with an Associate's degree and documented experience in bulk product inspection and release are encouraged to apply.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Cosmetics Science, or a related scientific field preferred. Associate's degree with relevant laboratory or quality control experience will be considered.
