Benefit Cosmetics seeks an Accountant in Paris, France. Full-time role managing operational accounting, VAT compliance, and month-end close procedures.
Role & Responsibilities
- Process, verify, and code supplier invoices for goods and services using MEDIUS accounting system
- Verify and record employee expense reports (NDF) in NOTILUS tool
- Prepare and execute payment campaigns for vendors and expense reports
- Record fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and retirements in coordination with merchandising
- Execute month-end cut-off procedures including accruals for operating expenses and fixed asset expenditures
- Compute and record asset depreciation; prepare and analyze fixed asset flows
- Analyze aged vendor balance reports, reconcile accounts, manage disputes, and follow up on outstanding items
- Review and analyze intercompany auxiliary accounts
- Gather and prepare accounting documentation for internal control campaigns and annual audits
- Coordinate annual inventory reconciliation of fixed assets with the merchandising department
- Prepare and monitor monthly French VAT declarations and foreign VAT reimbursement documentation
- Prepare ancillary tax and social declarations including DEB, AGESSA, and DAS2
Qualifications
- BTS in Accounting (Comptabilité) or DCG qualification
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Fluent English (oral and written)
- SAP knowledge (preferred)
- Strong organizational and attention to detail
- Proactive and autonomous work ethic
- Conscientious and reliable approach to financial compliance
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in an operational finance role, with demonstrated competency in general ledger management, invoice processing, expense reporting, and month-end or quarterly closing procedures.
Education
BTS in Accounting (BTS Comptabilité) or equivalent DCG (Diplôme de Comptabilité et de Gestion) qualification required.
