The Waiter at Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond Hotel, Machu Picchu welcomes guests, takes orders, delivers attentive table service and maintains clean, organized service areas while meeting LQA, SQF, HACCP and workplace safety standards. The role follows a 14-days-on/7-days-off work schedule.

Role & Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and customers as they enter the restaurant, providing warm, professional service.
• Present menu options knowledgeably and take orders clearly and promptly.
• Check that dishes are hot, clean and consistently presented before serving.
• Monitor table service, removing soiled or unnecessary utensils and replenishing glasses, cups, bread and service items as needed.
• Keep the supplies required to respond to customer requests quickly and efficiently within reach.
• Keep tables, service stations and trays orderly to support operations and the collection of tableware.
• Coordinate station assignments and service replenishment with colleagues to prevent overlap and ensure smooth service.
• Keep guest areas clean and in good condition, including carpets, rugs and bathrooms, addressing anything that could affect service.
• Organize service areas appropriately, keeping clean and soiled items separate.
• Exceed customer expectations for quality, efficiency and timeliness while meeting LQA, SQF, HACCP, and occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Hospitality or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the role or similar positions.
• Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of gastronomy, including dish ingredients and preparation methods; HACCP and/or SQF knowledge is desirable.
• Attention to detail, planning and organizational ability.
