The Training and Engagement Officer at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, supports the Learning & Development Manager, delivers and coordinates training, administers the hotel's Learning Management System, and develops employee engagement initiatives and internal communications. The role also coordinates the weekly HR newsletter and supports other HR projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Learning & Development Manager in designing and developing training programs, including creating training materials, manuals, and visual aids.
- Deliver training sessions for different departments on service standards, operational procedures, and compliance.
- Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring appropriate resources and facilities are available.
- Administer and manage the hotel's Learning Management System (LMS).
- Support and guide department trainers to ensure consistent training delivery.
- Promote learning and development across the business, and celebrate employees who complete training programs, earn certifications, or demonstrate significant skill development.
- Develop and implement initiatives to foster a positive and engaging work environment across hotel departments, including team-building activities, social events, celebrations, recognition, and other programs to boost morale and camaraderie.
- Manage internal communication channels, including newsletters, Check In post, LinkedIn, and bulletin boards, to keep employees informed and connected.
- Coordinate the weekly HR newsletter, including learning and development activities, on-the-job training and activities, and social events.
- Assist with other HR-related tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience facilitating training in an engaging manner.
- Knowledge of learning and development best practices and trends.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience administering a learning management system is advantageous.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
