As a Tax Intern at Belmond Peru’s Cusco office, the intern will support tax compliance and obligations in Peru and help consolidate and review accounting information for accurate tax payments. The role is based at Wanchac train station; a hybrid 3x2 work arrangement is offered.
Role & Responsibilities
- Generate tax settlement reports using O7 and Workday.
- Review payment dates on professional-fee receipts for PLAME reporting with HR, utility-service receipts for input tax credit, and receipts from non-residents for PDT 617 withholding-tax payments.
- Review whether supplier payment documents issued on credit are compliant, and check fourth-category withholding suspension certificates for professional-fee receipts exceeding S/ 1,500.00.
- Review purchase-register suppliers that may be classified as entities without operating capacity.
- Assign descriptions in the purchase-register report to payment documents entered by Logistics.
- Generate the IGV withholding report (PDT 626).
- Review discrepancies between the accounting purchase and sales registers and the SIRE–SUNAT proposal.
- Validate electronic-book TXT files (PLE–SIRE).
- Review payment documents for items subject to detracción.
- Prepare the informative return for IGV on non-resident transactions.
- Record IGV payments on non-resident transactions in O7.
- Prepare reports of input-tax-credit additions and deductions supporting an SFMB refund request.
- Prepare reports on related-party transactions for transfer pricing.
Qualifications
- Graduate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Knowledge of the SUNAT platform.
- Knowledge of an accounting ERP.
- At least 6 months of experience performing similar duties.
- Knowledge of Workday and O7 is valued.
- Ability to work with order, organization, proactivity, and commitment.
