The Social Worker at Palacio Nazarenas, a Belmond Hotel, in Cusco coordinates employee wellbeing, workplace climate, social and health cases, internal communications, occupational health and safety activities, and related records and benefits administration. The role requires a registered Social Work graduate with knowledge of human resources, labor legislation, occupational health and safety, and social cases.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the organization’s workplace climate in coordination with the Head of Human Resources and department leaders, including organizing workplace-climate committees, following up on the climate plan, and arranging breakfasts.
- Propose, administer, and deliver the annual social-wellbeing programme, managing its budget for activities benefiting employees.
- Ensure relevant information is communicated internally to employees through the appropriate channels and within the required timeframe.
- Promote, communicate, and record wellbeing programmes and employee recognition through company communication channels.
- Prepare records and statistics, and present monthly and as-requested social-wellbeing indicators and reports, including awards, activities, accidents, and health cases.
- Ensure the proper operation and use of spaces designed for employees.
- Identify, address, follow up on, and report employees’ social and health cases, inside or outside the organization, providing personalized assistance. Conduct home and hospital visits in cases involving workplace or non-work accidents and maternity, and obtain police verification when necessary.
- Raise requests and make purchases related to the department; manage health-plan affiliations and reimbursements, as well as ESSALUD procedures for CITT exchanges and subsidies.
- Coordinate, fulfil, and report on Health and Safety activities before employees join and when they leave.
- Coordinate the annual Occupational Health plan with the occupational physician and comply with occupational health and safety management-system guidelines and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee dependent records, including registrations and deregistrations, in T-Registro and RAET, and prepare the required changes report.
- Manage and ensure the validity of health cards for employees who require them, from the time they join the company, in accordance with municipal, MINSA, and SQF/HACCP standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, with professional registration.
- Knowledge of Human Resources, labor legislation concerning economic benefits, occupational health and safety, and experience handling social cases.
- Negotiation skills to manage resources and benefits while balancing employee needs with company objectives.
- Attention to detail in planning and delivering wellbeing programmes, ensuring quality and alignment with organizational standards.
- Proactive approach to social and workplace situations, anticipating needs and proposing effective solutions.
- Social sensitivity when supporting employees and their families at key moments.
