The Public Area Attendant at Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond Hotel, Machu Picchu, cleans and maintains indoor and outdoor common areas, reports facility and equipment faults, and helps ensure a safe, orderly guest environment. The role also includes polishing bronze elements, using area resources efficiently and responding promptly to hotel requirements during each shift; the schedule is 14 days on and 7 days off.
Role & Responsibilities
- Clean, dust and maintain the assigned hotel area, including outdoor spaces, entrances and surrounding areas.
- Clean and disinfect lobby and event-area bathrooms.
- Clean windows, umbrellas, chairs and tables in gardens and outdoor areas.
- Arrange and clean lobby chairs, sofas, cushions and tables, and empty and clean ashtrays.
- Collect newspapers, magazines and papers, and clean up residue or waste caused by incidents in common areas.
- Polish the hotel's bronze elements.
- Check that light fixtures are working and report faults in facilities or equipment to a supervisor or Maintenance.
- Use the resources and materials assigned to the area optimally and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe space that ensures an excellent guest and client experience.
- Carry out all duties assigned during the shift and respond promptly to the hotel's requirements.
Qualifications
- Training related to the duties to be performed.
- At least 2 years of experience performing similar duties.
- Knowledge of detergents, polishes, disinfectants and appropriate equipment.
- Attention to detail, planning and organizational abilities.
