The Project Director leads strategic capital expenditure and renovation projects across Belmond properties, managing teams, budgets, schedules, scope and quality from inception to completion. The role also supports property evaluations and portfolio expansion, with regular site visits and travel as required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic capital expenditure and renovation projects across the Belmond portfolio, from inception through completion.
- Direct internal and external project teams to deliver complex programmes on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Partner with the Development Team to evaluate potential new properties, providing operational and technical expertise for portfolio expansion.
- Champion project management practices and design innovation to maintain luxury hospitality standards.
- Direct and manage project teams; analyze and optimize major and minor capital programmes, budgets, schedules, scope and product.
- Create or oversee comprehensive project plans covering scope, budget and timeline, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Support other Project Leads, including property Engineers, with project delivery where able to add value.
- Lead, manage and inspire internal and external stakeholders across projects.
- Oversee the creation of project budgets.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, including senior leadership team members, property senior leaders and the line manager.
- Conduct regular design reviews, site visits and inspections to monitor design and construction progress.
- Travel to properties, suppliers and consultants when required to facilitate projects.
- Ensure all project deliverables are completed and outstanding issues resolved.
Qualifications
- Fluent Spanish and advanced English, both verbal and written.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles.
