The Baker at Monasterio, a Belmond Hotel, Cusco prepares breads, desserts and other assigned products, including breakfast breads and special orders, while maintaining production standards, inventory, hygiene and shift handovers. The role requires a technical qualification in Hospitality and Tourism, Baking or a related field, intermediate English and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare mise en place for breads, desserts and other assigned products.
- Bake breads for the hotel breakfast and fulfil special orders efficiently and to a high standard.
- Prepare assigned products in strict accordance with established recipes and instructions.
- Keep the buffet stocked with planned desserts and replenish them as needed.
- Support other bakers and pastry cooks with tasks required to maintain operational continuity.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of finished products in refrigeration and report it weekly to the chef.
- Promptly report missing ingredients or supplies to the area supervisor.
- Pack, cover and store preparations appropriately in accordance with established requirements.
- Keep the work area and refrigeration and freezer rooms clean, disinfected and orderly before, during and after the shift.
- Communicate relevant completed and pending work to the next shift, ensuring the hotel’s quality and hygiene standards are upheld.

- Technical qualification in Hospitality and Tourism, Baking, or a related field.
- Intermediate English proficiency.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of baking.
- At least 2 years of experience in the role or similar positions.
- Ability to work with speed, order, cleanliness and attention to detail.
