The Maintenance Technician at Las Casitas, a Belmond Hotel, Colca Canyon, inspects, diagnoses and maintains hotel equipment and systems, follows preventive maintenance, and supports the property's safe, reliable operation. This is a temporary position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment in the machine room and diagnose faults within the relevant specialty.
- Review equipment in floor risers and diagnose issues within the relevant specialty.
- Inspect and diagnose equipment in event rooms within the relevant specialty.
- Inspect and diagnose equipment in guest rooms within the relevant specialty.
- Request materials required to resolve maintenance issues.
- Conduct weekly, fortnightly and monthly inspections according to specialty.
- Receive and verify spare parts requested for each job.
- Improve systems according to specialty and requirements.
- Follow up on preventive maintenance.
- Ensure hotel equipment, both critical and general, remains operational.
- Ensure equipment functions properly until the next maintenance intervention.
- Keep machine-room equipment in optimal condition.
- Comply with occupational health and safety management system guidelines and local regulations.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in similar roles, including 2 years inspecting machinery, performing preventive maintenance, requesting equipment and materials, and improving processes.
- Technical or professional qualification in electrical work, plumbing, mechanics, refrigeration or welding.
- Basic English and basic Office skills; intermediate English is also specified.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing stairs and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to understand work-order instructions, communicate with team members and supervisors, and explain information clearly to others.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to maintain work records and track maintenance schedules and assignments.
- Knowledge of operating electronic audio and video equipment, including installation and support.

Experience

Education
Technical or professional qualification in electrical work, plumbing, mechanics, refrigeration or welding.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is PLN 1,690 per annum.
