Belmond’s Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina is seeking a Kitchen Steward for the 2027 season. The role supports the kitchen brigade through dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, waste management, HACCP compliance and delivery storage; it is a seasonal contract under the Tourism Sector – Federalberghi C.C.N.L., with annual pay of €20,000–€23,000.

Role & Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cutlery, cookware, kitchen utensils and glassware using professional machinery or by hand when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces and goods-storage areas.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with Belmond Group guidelines on waste reduction and environmental sustainability.
• Ensure full compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards and HACCP procedures when cleaning and handling equipment.
• Assist the kitchen brigade with loading and unloading deliveries and storing products correctly in the pantry and cold rooms.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dishwasher, kitchen steward or cleaner, preferably in a five-star hotel or high-end restaurant.
• Speed, accuracy and resilience under pressure, with the ability to maintain an intense and efficient pace during peak service periods.
• Team-oriented approach, flexibility and a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of basic hygiene standards (HACCP) and the correct use of professional cleaning chemicals.
• Excellent knowledge of Italian.

The base compensation for this position ranges from EUR 20,000 to EUR 23,000 per annum.
