The Human Resources Intern at Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond Hotel, in Machu Picchu supports recruitment and selection, learning and development, employee wellbeing, and related HR operations. The role coordinates personnel records, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, uniforms and internal communications, while supporting compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment and selection processes for employees, interns and temporary staff at hotels and corporate offices, following established procedures.
  • Coordinate logistics for inductions, training sessions, interviews and other Human Resources activities.
  • Organize, update and file personnel documentation, including contracts, agreements, CVs and employee, intern and temporary staff files.
  • Follow up on the signing of agreements, onboarding documents and other administrative requirements for personnel across different payrolls.
  • Maintain applicant databases and departmental information records.
  • Manage the distribution, follow-up and filing of performance evaluations, updating the corresponding departmental records.
  • Coordinate the distribution of uniforms, staff ID badges, cards, name tags and other items needed for employees to join and remain with the organization.
  • Follow up on training plans, attendance, cross-training and coordination with departments and training leads.
  • Support departmental internal communications, including noticeboards, employee arrivals and the distribution of relevant information.
  • Provide efficient and timely support for Human Resources processes in compliance with occupational health and safety rules, standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Technical qualification, graduate status or final-year studies in Hotel Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field; final-year students must be available to work a 14-days-on, 7-days-off schedule.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of time-management systems.
  • Ability to work methodically and in an organized manner, as well as to work in a team and under pressure.
