The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping and laundry operations at Las Casitas, a Belmond Hotel, Colca Canyon, maintaining luxury service, hygiene and safety standards while managing staff, schedules, budgets, inventories and floral arrangements. This is a temporary role in Yanque, Peru.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and follow up on cleaning duties in public and internal areas, ensuring an impeccable presentation for guests.
- Ensure the quality of room services, laundry and related areas in line with LQA standards, luxury hospitality standards and safety regulations.
- Plan and control the department’s monthly and annual budget, optimise costs and implement corrective measures where appropriate.
- Set departmental goals and objectives in alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and administer schedules, ensuring sufficient staffing to cover operations.
- Verify compliance with operational standards and monitor team performance, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Manage the training, coaching and development of housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring their knowledge of rooms, services and hotel schedules remains up to date.
- Address and correct staff performance and disciplinary matters in accordance with internal rules and procedures.
- Manage leave, overtime tracking and other operational aspects of the team.
- Manage inventories, replenish materials and equipment, select linens, and coordinate the hotel’s floral arrangements.
- Carry out other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Technical qualification in Hotel Administration or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in similar roles, ideally as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.
- Intermediate English proficiency.
- User-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Workday and budget and inventory management.
- Ability to communicate effectively to coordinate the team and maintain smooth working relationships with other departments and suppliers.
- Results-oriented approach, ensuring compliance with standards, operational targets and service quality.
- Ability to adapt to changes in occupancy, priorities and operational requirements.
- Methodical and organised working style, with initiative and creativity to propose improvements to processes and presentation.
Skills
Experience
At least 3 years in similar roles, ideally as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.
Education
Technical qualification in Hotel Administration or a related field.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Yanque, Arequipa, Peru, with easy access to Arequipa.
