At Belmond’s Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, the Housekeeping Attendant maintains hotel areas and equipment, supports colleagues and delivers courteous guest service. The role includes assigned daily cleaning tasks, handling found property and reporting issues or unfinished work to Housekeeping.
Role & Responsibilities
- Report to Housekeeping to collect the daily task allocation folder and the basket of products needed for the role.
- Keep all work equipment clean and properly stored; report any damage to Housekeeping immediately.
- Deliver quality service and work as part of a team to meet guest and company expectations.
- Polish furniture, sweep floors, wax floors, wash windows, replenish bathroom hand towels, vacuum carpets and clean walls.
- Support colleagues with other departmental tasks as needed to ensure effective teamwork.
- Report unusual circumstances to Housekeeping and seek guidance when in doubt.
- Turn in any items found in public or service areas to Housekeeping.
- Give priority to guests and greet them courteously.
- Respond flexibly to challenging situations and problems, with the knowledge of an immediate supervisor.
- Use the chemical products provided, pre-measured and stored in each employee’s basket.
- Follow requests and instructions from Housekeeping.
- At the end of each shift, complete the daily task checklist and inform the immediate supervisor of any unfinished tasks for follow-up.
Qualifications
- Completed secondary education.
- At least 6 months of experience in the role or a similar position at a cleaning-sector company is preferred.
