The Hotel Receptionist at Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond Hotel, Machu Picchu manages guest arrivals and departures to LQA standards, providing personalised service and coordinating guest requests with hotel departments. The role includes front desk, cashiering, communications and shift handovers, on a 14-days-on, 7-days-off schedule.
Role & Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a professional demeanour and adhere to hotel service standards.
- Conduct guest check-in, check-out, registration and account-closing processes.
- Provide clear, timely information about the hotel, rooms, rates, promotions and services, and respond to enquiries.
- Assign and reassign rooms according to guest requirements, agreed rates and availability, coordinating with relevant departments.
- Receive guest orders, requests, messages and complaints; follow up and coordinate their resolution with the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate inclusions, complimentary services, amenities and special guest requirements with Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Spa and other departments, as applicable.
- Handle guest telephone calls, emails and correspondence, routing information appropriately.
- Perform cashiering duties, including cash reconciliation, currency exchange, refunds and remittance of funds, ensuring accurate and transparent handling.
- Check the availability of supplies and materials required for the role, and assist with billing or other operational tasks as needed.
- Record and report shift incidents, ensure effective handovers, handle information correctly and uphold hotel standards.
Qualifications
- Technical or professional qualification in Hospitality and Tourism, Hotel Administration, Administration or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Receptionist or Concierge.
- Advanced English; an intermediate level of a third language is an advantage.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Opera and billing processes used in hotel operations.
- Ability to provide friendly, attentive service, work dynamically and in an orderly manner, and perform under pressure.
- General knowledge and sound judgement when interacting with guests from different backgrounds.

Technical or professional qualification in Hospitality and Tourism, Hotel Administration, Administration or a related field.
