The Executive Housekeeper at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, supervises housekeeping operations, staff assignments, service standards, stock levels and maintenance coordination. The role also oversees guest arrivals and room requirements and develops procedures to improve departmental quality and efficiency.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate room attendants, house attendants, public area cleaners, floor supervisors and assistant executive housekeepers.
- Prepare and distribute room assignments and allocate work sections to room attendants.
- Investigate housekeeping service and equipment complaints, record and report them through appropriate channels, and follow up to resolve outstanding issues.
- Oversee housekeeping staff and ensure compliance with established safety and sanitation policies and standards.
- Report and coordinate maintenance work with the Technical Services team in relevant areas to keep the property well maintained.
- Maintain correct par stock levels of guest supplies, cleaning supplies and linen.
- Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the department’s operating quality and efficiency.
- Conduct daily briefings with the Housekeeping team.
- Review the daily arrivals list for detailed information on arrivals and room requirements.

- Previous experience in a similar role and good knowledge of supervisory skills.
